From May 2025, Irish airline Ryanair will abolish all check-in counters at airports. In the future, passengers will have to check-in exclusively via the Ryanair app.
CEO Michael O’Leary emphasized that this move is part of a strategy to reduce costs and keep airfares stable. 60 percent of Ryanair passengers already check in online, a number that is expected to rise to 80 percent by the end of the year. Passage, the check-in costs of 55 euros are confirmed with the airline and the app can be opened.
The change is also intended to make airport operations more efficient, reducing congestion and waiting times. O’Leary Hob Boil that in addition to check-in, the app also provides information about gate changes and delays. Despite initial concerns, Ryanair sees digitalization as an inevitable development in air traffic.
