Air Canada is continuing its strategy of offering travelers combined air, rail and bus travel by launching new routes in several European countries and South Korea.
In collaboration with railway companies such as SNCF in France, Deutsche Bahn, SBB in Switzerland and ÖBB in Austria, passengers can book seamless connections to numerous destinations within these countries. The expansion to additional countries in Europe and Asia complements Air Canada’s existing offering, which has already existed in Germany, France, Switzerland and Austria since December 2023.
The program aims to not only provide travelers with additional flexibility, but also environmentally friendly transportation options. Customers can book train connections to cities such as Nantes, Bordeaux, Marseille, Frankfurt or Zurich directly when purchasing their plane ticket. Air Canada also plans to expand its cooperation with the Lufthansa Express Rail program to give customers even better access to European destinations.
If you have no option passages and no free time, no tickets are available and check-ins for all legs are not possible, but you also benefit from automated rebookings in the event of delays. Air Canada expects that the combined flight-train offer will not only provide more travel comfort, but also reduce CO₂ emissions in travel.
